INTRODUCTION

AUDIENCE
:
Those with an
elementary knowledge of the operation of micro computers who wish
to learn how to create and use Databases using Access for Windows.
This is a course
with a high level of practical content, aimed at those people who
have not used Access before. It caters for delegates with widely
differing experience and skill levels.
TEACHING
APPROACH
:
The teaching
approach contains a mix of lectures, practical and one to one work,
varying according to the number of people attending. For the most
part delegates are able to work at a pace which best suits them
with emphasis being placed upon quality rather than quantity.
PRE
REQUISITES :
Those with an
elementary knowledge of the operation of micro computers. No previous
experience with Access is necessary although some experience with
Microsoft Windows is an advantage, though not essential.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
:
By the end of
the course, delegates should be able to :
1. Start the Access program& understand database theory.
2. Become familiar with the database window and objects.
3. Use the Access menu system and toolbar.
4. Create a new database table and database file.
5. Enter data into a table in datasheet view.
6. Find and replace data.
7. Use the Form Wizard.
8. Enter and edit data records in form view.
9. Filter, Sort and search through records.
10. Understand and use Dynsets or Subsets.
11. Create and apply Filters or Quick Queries.
12. Create, and apply Permanent Queries.
13. Modify existing Permanent Queries.
14. Include calculated fields into queries.
15. Use the Report Wizard.
16. Create a standard tabular report.
17. Create a grouped report.

Access for Windows.
This is a course
with a high level of practical content, aimed at those people who
have used Access before. It caters for delegates with widely differing
experience and skill levels.
