INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL

DURATION : Half day

TARGET AUDIENCE :

Those with an elementary knowledge of the operation of micro computers who wish to learn how to create and use spreadsheets using Excel for Windows.

This is a course with a high level of practical content, aimed at those people who have not used excel for windows before. It caters for delegates with widely differing experience and skill levels.

TEACHING APPROACH :

The teaching approach contains a mix of lectures, practical and one to one work, varying according to the number of people attending. For the most part delegates are able to work at a pace which best suits them with emphasis being placed upon quality rather than quantity.

PRE REQUISITES :

Those with an elementary knowledge of the operation of micro computers. No previous experience with Excel for Windows is necessary although some experience with Microsoft Windows is an advantage, though not essential.

COURSE OBJECTIVES :

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to :

1. Understand the Excel for Windows Screen
" Title Bar
" Menu Bar
" Toolbars
" Scroll Bars
" Position Indicators
" Status/Edit Line

2. Move around the spreadsheet
3. Use a workbook and worksheets for creating a spreadsheet
4. Understand the cancel and enter boxes
5. Understand cell referencing and basic formula building
6. Understand the meaning of a range of cells
7. Use the AutoSum button
8. Use the Fill Handle
9. Change how the worksheet looks
10. Use the currency style, decrease & increase decimal buttons
11. Create an invoice using text and numerical data
12. Use formulas to calculate the cost & VAT of the invoice
13. Replicating and filling ranges of cells

EXCEL for WINDOWS - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

DURATION : Half day

TARGET AUDIENCE :

Those with a well developed knowledge in the operation of micro computers who wish to learn more in-depth and advanced techniques to create and manipulate spreadsheets using Excel for Windows.

This is a course with a high level of practical content, aimed at those people who have used excel for windows before. It caters for delegates with widely differing experience and skill levels.

TEACHING APPROACH :

The teaching approach contains a mix of lectures, practical and one to one work, varying according to the number of people attending. For the most part delegates are able to work at a pace which best suits them with emphasis being placed upon quality rather than quantity.

PRE REQUISITES :

Ideally, course delegates will have attended the Excel for Windows Introduction or have a previous knowledge of the concepts of Excel and Microsoft Windows.

EXCEL for WINDOWS - ADVANCED LEVEL

DURATION : Half day

TARGET AUDIENCE :

Those with a well developed knowledge in the operation of micro computers who wish to learn more in-depth and advanced techniques to create and manipulate spreadsheets using Excel for Windows.

This is a course with a high level of practical content, aimed at those people who have used excel for windows before. It caters for delegates with widely differing experience and skill levels.
